thesis: performance art
Through performance art, I explore how experiences affect the creation of a unique identity. Lines and thread are evident in mythologies and cultures all over the world; the three Greek Fates spin the metaphorical thread of life, while longitude and latitude lines organize the globe. My body of work incorporates these concepts into the representation of a single lifetime. Only though the combination of all of the colors, or experiences, can a metamorphosis take place; with the unveiling of the white, the cocoon gives birth to the purest form of oneself and in the last image my face is revealed.
